Malaysian rubber prices closed slightly higher today in tandem with the uptrend in the price of the commodity on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, a dealer said.
He said there was also renewed buying support amid a tight supply
situation due to the rainy weather in the three rubber producing countries of Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
At noon, the Malaysian Rubber Board's official physical price for
tyre-grade SMR 20 rose 5.5 sen to 736.5 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk was unchanged at 512.5 sen a kg.
The unofficial closing price for tyre-grade SMR 20 gained 3.5 sen to 736.5 sen a kg, while latex-in-bulk rose half-a-sen sen to 513 sen a kg
