Halton eyes Bursa Malaysia listing

PETALING JAYA: Halton Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, a joint-venture company between Finland-based Halton Group and Kumpulan Hamodal Sdn Bhd, plans to list on Bursa Malaysia in the next five years.

Halton Group's chairman, Mika Halttunen, said in order to get listed the company aimed to double its revenue in the next five years from about '17 million (RM74.67 million) currently as well as serving its customers faster.

"We have been here since 1996 and we love this country. Our factory here has been used to cater to the demand from Middle East and most of the Asian markets," he told reporters after the launch of the new factory here today.

He said the new factory, with production capacity of 60 to 70 kitchen hoods per week, was expected to meet the increasing demand from the markets the company intended to venture into.

"Starting next year, we will venture into another two Asian markets -- Indonesia and Philippines," he said.

Halttunen said last year, Halton Manufacturing contributed about 10 per cent to Halton Group's total revenue.

The contribution from Malaysia business was expected to increase by 10-15 per cent yearly, he said.

"We will continue to grow. We have huge demand from Middle East currently and also, Japan has recovered from its economic crisis. These events are expected to bring positive outcome to our company," he said.
