Petronas awards RM7.5b contracts under VDP

The Petronas Vendor Development Programme (VDP), which aims to promote Bumiputera entrepreneurs, has to date awarded contracts exceeding RM7.5 billion to 79 companies.

In a statement today, Petronas said the VDP has the primary objective of creating resilient and competitive Bumiputera entrepreneurs in oil and gas-related manufacturing and technical services of medium and high technology with an import-substitution end-goal.

Meanwhile, Petronas said it has appointed three new Bumiputera vendors under the VDP, Petroclamp Sdn Bhd, OMNI Oil Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd and Eastern Energy Services Sdn Bhd, respectively, in May, September and November this year.

The national oil company said Eastern Energy Services was appointed a vendor to manufacture, supply and service gas lift valves and side pocket mandrels for offshore drilling and well operation activities.

It said OMNI Oil Technologies was appointed to manufacture and supply solid type (carbon steel) and bow spring type centralisers for well casings.

Petroclamp was appointed a vendo to manufacture and supply of all cast steel protector for control lines and cables of oil and gas wells.
